While I&#39;m still puzzled how a smart guy like yourself, who seems to be working his butt off, fails, I encourage to avoid giving up on your dream of becoming a doctor. You clearly have the passion to do this and I think you would make an excellent physician. Too many doctors these days, especially residents, take this job for granted. They&#39;re poor attitudes reflect in their work and unfortunately patient care tends to suffer as a result. If you pursue this and succeed, you&#39;ll come appreciate the hard work it takes in taking care of patients. It&#39;ll prepare you well for the bullshit of working in healthcare and the rigors of residency. Don&#39;t look at this failure as a sign of incapability, but more as a means of reaffirming your dream.<br /><br />Having said that, I strongly suggest exploring one of the other Carribean Medical schools. I&#39;m currently in a university program in the northeast and we a couple graduates from AUA and MUA. I know you want to settle in Cali, and these other schools may not give you an opportunity to do that, I don&#39;t think that should deter you from pursuing this route (you could always practice in Arizona or Nevada!). <br /><br />Again, medicine needs more people like you. There are nurses and there are &quot;mega-nurses&quot;. I&#39;m not as familiar with PA&#39;s although I&#39;ve been treated by one.<br /><br />There are so many positions in health care that are needed, a doctor is just one position of many. <br /><br />I did not have the skills to be a nurse or a doctor, I&#39;m smart, but not that kind of smart!<br /><br />I ran a surgery center and hired and fired doctors, nurses, CRNA&#39;s, nurse practitioners with PhD&#39;s, and a lot of other people required to run the surgery center.<br /><br />All of the professionals were smart and capable. The plus for advance practice nurses is that they do most of what a doctor does, without the risks and huge malpractice costs. I have 3 Ross transfer students in my class and 1 AUC transfer. They are all doing well at my school, from what I gather. I attend UMHS at St. Kitt&#39;s. It is a shitty little island, but my school is the second school the Ross family started like two years ago after selling your current school to DeVry. The best island in the Caribbean is St.Maartin, which AUC is at.<br /><br />At any rate, Jonathan, move on man to another smaller school. You have been irrationally hung up on the Ross reputation--I guess their marketing got to your head. At any rate, you need to try a different flavor of ice cream because Ross is making you sick. It is not about quitting, it is about being smart and choosing a school that better fits your learning style. Just keep in mind all Caribbean schools are a little &quot;stale&quot; to continue to ice cream analogy.<br /><br />If you want I can get you in touch with the Ross transfers in my class. Luckily I pulled through.<br /><br />Unless you&#39;ve already determined that it&#39;s mathematically impossible to pass this semester, email me and let me know things like what your grades are and how you go about prepping for exam. Even if you&#39;re out, email me anyways!
